Store Policies – Gem State Corals

Welcome to Gem State Corals. We’re passionate about bringing healthy, vibrant corals and reefing supplies to hobbyists across the U.S. To ensure transparency and trust, please review our store policies below.

📦 Shipping Policy

  • Live Corals ship Monday–Wednesday to avoid weekend delays.

  • Orders are shipped overnight via UPS or FedEx to your door.

  • Local Pickup is available in Caldwell, Idaho by appointment.

  • Shipping costs are calculated at checkout and are non-refundable.

  • Extreme weather may require us to delay shipping for the safety of your livestock.

🌊 DOA (Live Arrival Guarantee)

We stand behind every coral we ship. In the rare case of a DOA (Dead on Arrival):

  1. Contact us within 2 hours of delivery.

  2. Provide clear photos or video of the coral still sealed in the original bag.

  3. Do not discard coral or packaging until we confirm your claim.

  4. Approved DOA claims are refunded as store credit only. Shipping is non-refundable.

  5. Claims made after 24 hours of delivery are not eligible.

🔄 Returns & Cancellations

  • Due to the delicate nature of live animals, we do not accept returns on livestock.

  • Dry Goods & Equipment: Many of these items are dropshipped directly from the manufacturer. Returns, warranties, or exchanges must follow the manufacturer’s return guidelines and will be processed through them, not Gem State Corals.

  • Order cancellations must be requested before shipping. Once a label has been created, cancellations are no longer possible.

🧪 Coral Acclimation

To give your new coral the best chance to thrive:

  1. Float sealed bags in your tank for 15–20 minutes to temperature acclimate.

  2. Open bag and slowly add tank water (¼ cup every 5 minutes for 20–30 minutes).

  3. Optional but recommended: Dip all corals in a reef-safe coral dip before adding to your system.

  4. Place coral in low light and low flow for the first 24–48 hours before moving to its permanent location.

We accept all major credit cards, Shop Pay, PayPal, and Gem State Corals gift cards/store credit. Payment must be received in full before any order ships.
